\nThis mineral is found in relatively thick layers in the Earth’s crust in Semnan province. In general, it is ranked fifth in terms of abundance in nature. Various types of Semnan gypsum are found as gypsum rock with the formula CaSO4+2H2O. Due to its high chemical reactivity, it is not extracted in its pure form but is often mixed with carbon or iron oxides along with limestone and clay. Gypsum that is found as calcium sulfate without water is known as anhydrite.
\nThe extracted rock is transported to a processing plant, crushed, roasted, and dust is removed. Then, it is calcined, milled, and classified based on the desired product. It is then marked and packaged, and finally, quality control is performed.
